facebook ads getting clicks but no inquiries? 7 fixes

Short answer

Clicks without inquiries usually mean the problem is after the click, not in the ad: the wrong campaign objective, a slow or unclear landing page, a weak offer, too much friction, or slow replies. Fix the objective and your reply speed first; they're the cheapest wins.

You can see people clicking. Ads Manager says the click-through rate is fine. But your WhatsApp is quiet and the phone doesn't ring. This is one of the most common problems we see in UAE ad accounts, and it almost never has one cause.

Work through these seven fixes in order. The first ones are the cheapest.

1. you're running the wrong campaign objective

Meta does what you ask it to. If your campaign objective is Traffic, Meta finds people who click, and people who click a lot rarely buy. If you want inquiries, choose Leads (for forms or calls) or Engagement → Messages (for WhatsApp and Instagram DMs).

Fix: check the objective of every campaign. If it says Traffic or Awareness and you want inquiries, rebuild it with a Leads or Messages objective.

2. your landing page loses people

If your ad sends people to a website, the page has about five seconds to convince them. Common problems:

  • It loads slowly on mobile data.
  • It opens on your homepage instead of a page about the offer in the ad.
  • The phone number or WhatsApp button is hidden at the bottom.
  • The page says something different from the ad.

Fix: send ad traffic to one focused page with the same headline as the ad, the price or offer, and a big button to message or call. Or skip the website: use a WhatsApp or instant form campaign. A landing page built for one offer usually beats a homepage.

3. the offer gives no reason to act now

"Best dental clinic in Dubai, contact us" gives nobody a reason to message today. A clear offer does: a specific service, a price or starting price, and a reason to act this week.

Fix: rewrite the ad and landing page around one offer, for example "Teeth whitening consultation, AED 199, book this week". Specific beats clever.

4. too much friction, or too little

A long form with ten questions kills inquiries. But a form that's too easy produces junk leads who don't remember filling it in.

Fix: keep forms to 3–4 questions. If lead quality is poor, add one qualifying question (budget, timing or area) or switch to Meta's "higher intent" form type, which adds a review step. If you want conversations, use click-to-WhatsApp instead of a form.

5. you reply too slowly

Inquiries cool fast. Someone who messages at 9 pm and gets a reply the next afternoon has already asked two of your competitors.

Fix: reply within minutes during working hours, and set an instant automatic reply on WhatsApp Business so nobody waits in silence. Our lead reply scripts show what to send in the first five minutes.

6. your tracking is broken

If the Meta pixel or Conversions API isn't set up, Meta can't see which clicks became inquiries, so it can't find more people like them. It keeps optimising for clicks.

Fix: check in Events Manager that your lead or purchase event fires when someone submits a form or starts a chat. For messaging campaigns, Meta tracks conversations started automatically.

7. the ad attracts the wrong people

An ad with a giveaway, a meme or a very low price can get lots of cheap clicks from people who will never buy. Broad targeting is fine on Meta today, but the creative has to speak to your real customer.

Fix: make the ad specific to who you serve: the area, the problem, the price level. A slightly higher cost per click from the right people is worth it if they actually inquire.

where to start

If you only do two things this week, check your campaign objective and your reply speed. They cost nothing to fix and solve the problem for many accounts. Then work on the offer and the landing page.

If you'd rather have someone look at your account, we can audit it on a call. If we take it on and don't beat your current cost per inquiry, you don't pay our fee that month.

FAQ

quick answers.

Why do my Facebook ads get clicks but no leads?

Usually because the campaign objective is Traffic instead of Leads or Messages, the landing page is slow or unclear, the offer gives no reason to act, or replies are too slow. Fix the objective and reply speed first.

Is a WhatsApp campaign better than a lead form in the UAE?

For local services it often is, because many UAE customers prefer to message. Lead forms work well when you need specific details up front. Test both and compare cost per inquiry.

How fast should I reply to a Facebook lead?

Within minutes during working hours. Set an instant auto-reply on WhatsApp Business so nobody waits in silence.
